We are strangers overwhelmingly united in our desire to help protect our Healthcare Warriors today. Whether you would like to donate resources, sew or share patterns and ideas, we can all band together (apart) and help out in this time of crisis.
There is currently a shortage of masks in the medical community as they are facing a surge of COVID-19 cases, which puts our healthcare professionals at high risk of contracting the virus themselves and reducing the resiliency of our healthcare system.
Thus, the purpose of our organization is to create a stopgap measure to address the current shortage of masks faced by healthcare professionals on the front lines of the medical community’s COVID-19 pandemic response.
Our main goal is to quickly mobilize local volunteers to supply healthcare professionals on the front lines of the medical community’s COVID-19 pandemic response (aka Healthcare Warriors) with fabric masks that include integrated nonwoven liners.
We are accomplishing our goal by using the skills and resources that already exist in our local community. Therefore, our group is set up to most effectively and efficiently capitalize on the skills and resources of those in our local community committed to the same cause, adapting our processes and guidelines as necessary as our group expands.
We also prioritize the health and safety of our members and recognize that our activities are taking place during shelter-in-place and social distancing requirements to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. Therefore, we provide our members with safe handling guidelines to help reduce the risk of spread between active members.
