If you are a healthcare professional or first responder on the front lines of this pandemic, please use this form to request a mask for you and/or your co-workers if you live in the Chicagoland area.
We prioritize our donations of fabric masks to local healthcare professionals and first responders on the front lines of this pandemic. We try to fulfill in the order received. As the number of requests as well as the volume of masks needed per request grows daily, it may take several days to fulfill your request. A mask maker will contact you to arrange pick-up once the masks are available.
Please note the following:
- While these masks are lined with a non-woven material, they are not medical grade and not as effective as N95 respirators. In the absence or shortage of N95s or surgical masks, we hope our masks provide some level of protection during this time of crisis. Users of the masks use them at their own risk.
- These fabric masks are made by volunteers in their homes. While we (also volunteers in our homes) provide recommendations on mask design and workspace sanitary measures, including washing the masks in hot water and drying on high heat before donation, we do not have any control over the environment in which these masks are made. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you sterilize these masks to your own standards upon receipt.
Our hope is that these will all eventually end up in the trash when proper PPE arrives. In the meantime, we hope they serve you well!
